Turmeric Time

Turmeric is known for it’s healing properties and cosmetic benefits. The spice contains curcumin which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Due to these properties, turmeric may provide glow and luster to the skin and also revive your skin by bringing out its natural glow. Turmeric can also reduce acne and scarring.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp of Yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp of Oats
  • 1 tsp of Honey
  • 1/2 tsp of Turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp of Lemon Juice

Method:

  1. Combine oats, yogurt and turmeric together and mix thoroughly.
  2. Add the honey and lemon juice and mix until all the ingredients combine to a desired consistency.
  3. Apply the mask to the skin evenly, avoiding the mouth and eyes.
  4. Wait 10 minutes before washing the face with warm water. Pat the skin dry.

Note: Turmeric can temporarily stain the skin or leave a yellow residue. This is normal. But if you’re allergic, direct skin contact can cause irritation, redness, and swelling. Do not use turmeric on your skin if you are allergic o the spice in food. To test your skin’s reaction apply to your forearm first before applying it to your face

The Classic Avo

Avocados are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and other antioxidants. Avocados are also rich in vitamin A, B, K, and E, all of which can help improve the health and wellness of the skin. To properly make a homemade face mask it is important to use fresh ingredients and the correct proportions.

This mask has three easy to find ingredients:

  • 1/4 of an Avocado
  • 1 Tbsp of Yogurt
  • 1 tsp of Honey

Method:

  1. Cut and smash the avocado until you achieve your desired consistency.
  2. Combine yogurt and honey with the smashed avocado.
  3. Apply evenly to the face and leave to dry for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Once dry rinse and wash the face with warm water and pat dry.
